Bihar man shoots grandmother dead over monetary dispute, goes missing
A 60-year-old woman was shot dead by her grandson after she denied giving him Rs 2 lakh in Bihar's Saran district. The accused fled the scene after the incident.
A man allegedly shot dead his 60-year-old grandmother over a monetary dispute in Bihar's Saran district on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Shivpati Kunwar (60).
Bhola Pandey, son of Shivpati Kunwar, said that his brother Ranvijay Pandey and his two sons, came home last night and started demanding Rs 2 lakh, which led to a heated argument.
"There had been an ongoing monetary dispute between us as we had already given them Rs 70,000 earlier," Bhola said.
"The argument soon escalated and Ranvijay's elder son, Rahul aka Sonu, fired a gunshot, which did not hit anyone. My mother then stepped forward and Rahul again fired a gunshot which hit her in the chest. We rushed her to the Jalalpur Primary Health Centre where the doctors declared her dead," Bhola added. The accused fled the scene after the incident.
Police took the body into custody and sent it for autopsy.
Meanwhile, one person was arrested in connection with the case. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused.
