Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched the all-new Honda SP160 at a starting price of Rs 1,17,500 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is the two-wheeler manufacturer's third model in the 160cc category after the Honda Unicorn and the Honda X-Blade.

The Honda SP160 comes in six different colour options -- Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Matte Dark Blue Metallic, Pearl Spartan Red, Pearl Igneous Black and Pearl Deep Ground Grey -- with the livery imparting a sporty touch to the motorcycle.

The motorcycle not only looks handsome but is feature-loaded as well. At the front, there is an LED headlamp. Even the taillamp is an LED unit. However, the turn indicators are not LEDs, which could have enhanced the style quotient.

The tank, which has a capacity of 12 litres, does add more character to the new Honda SP160. The motorcycle's sportiness is augmented by the under cowl. There is no split seat, but a 594mm long single seat.

The Honda SP160 uses the same 162.71cc Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) engine, which is employed by the Honda Unicorn. The engine develops 13.28hp of max power and 14.58Nm of peak twisting force, and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Talking about other technical specifications of the motorcycle, it sits on a diamond frame. There is a telescopic suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with a 80/100 front tyre and a wider 130/70 rear tyre. The front has a 276mm petal disc brake, while the rear either gets a 220mm petal disc brake or a 130mm drum brake. A single-channel ABS is standard.
