Hyundai Motor India launched the all-new entry-SUV, the Hyundai Exter, in the country on July 10. We have already informed you that this vehicle rivals the popular Tata Punch. A lot of our readers have been asking which of the two did better volumes last month. So, here is the answer.

Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: July sales

The Exter garnered wholesale despatches of 7,000 units in July. In comparison, the Punch clocked volumes of 12,019 units during the month.

Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Price

While the Exter is priced between Rs 5,99,999 and Rs 10,09,990 (ex-showroom), the Punch sits in the price range of 5,99,900 to Rs 10,09,900 (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Engine

The Exter employs a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, which delivers 83PS and 113.8Nm. It can be mated to a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. There is also a CNG option, which churns out 69PS and 95.2Nm. However, it can be paired with a 5-speed MT only.

The Punch uses a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, which produces 88PS and 115Nm. The transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. There is a CNG option as well and it is good for 73PS and 103Nm. The Punch CNG gets a 5-speed MT only.

Hyundai Exter vs Tata Punch: Mileage

The Exter mileage is claimed to be 19.4kmpl for the petrol MT, 19.2kmpl for the petrol AMT and 27.1km/kg for the CNG MT.

The Punch has a claimed mileage of 20.09kmpl for the petrol MT, 18.8kmpl for the petrol AMT and 26.99km/kg for the CNG MT.
