Ixigo CEO meets Decathlon employee who is professional ultra cyclist. Ankur Warikoo reacts

Aloke Bajpai, co-founder of Ixigo, recently shared his positive experience at a Decathlon store in Gurgaon, highlighting the exceptional customer service provided by one of the employees. Bajpai took to X (previously known as Twitter) to express his admiration for an employee named Shankar, whom he described as someone “with a smile at all times”.

Bajpai also emphasized the significance of companies that treat their employees well, stating that they tend to have highly satisfied customers, with each employee becoming a brand ambassador.

Impressed by Shankar's customer-centric attitude, Bajpai commended Decathlon CEO Barbara Martin Coppola and Decathlon Sports India CEO Jean Francois Mace, for hiring individuals who are passionate about sports and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

He further revealed that Shankar, besides being an exemplary store employee, is also a professional ultra cyclist who has undertaken extensive cycling expeditions across India and Europe. Moreover, Shankar is currently learning French, showcasing his enthusiasm for personal growth.

"I am always amazed by the Decathlon staff whenever I visit. They have good communication skills and are able to guide you properly. One of the reasons I prefer shopping there. I wonder what their sales number are, but I am sure they are enjoying tremendous growth in India," a user wrote.
