Political blame game erupts between AAP and BJP amid Delhi deluge

A political word war between the AAP and the BJP after AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted that despite his efforts to contact officers and request the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to repair the damaged water regulator, which caused flooding on Thursday night, he received no response from them. In response, the Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of teamwork and refraining from blaming each other during this time. He acknowledged that while he could also say a lot of things, it was unnecessary at the moment. The word war erupted even as the national capital continues to face severe floods.

As a political row erupted over the Delhi flood situation on Friday, Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena urged Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj to refrain from engaging in a blame game. He was responding to the latter's alleged delay in the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to repair the irrigation department regulator, which he claimed worsened the flood situation in the city. Reacting to these allegations, VK Saxena said this is not the time to play blame games. He further said that Bhardwaj should "take his responsibility as a minister seriously and refrain from immature, uninformed and politically motivated behaviour". The L-G said Bhardwaj "mischievously raked up" the ordinance issue to "prejudice the people".
