Arun Govil has been an integral part of the entertainment industry for several years now. The senior actor is best known for playing the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan'. He is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie 'OMG 2'. The veteran actor will be seen playing the role of a school principal in the film, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.

Ahead of the film's theatrical release, IndiaToday.in did an exclusive interview with Arun Govil. In a conversation with us, the veteran actor shared his thoughts on the films that are made on religious beliefs.

ARUN GOVIL ON FILMS MADE ON RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, Arun Govil expressed his opinion on the cinematic liberties taken when it comes to making films on religious beliefs.

"It is a very sensitive issue in every religion. I am sure that the filmmakers and the media should not do any such thing that could hurt the feelings of those people who believe in their God. The shape and size of God may be different whether we believe Lord Ram or Lord Krishna ya hum Lord Shiva ko maante ho. But they are all gods. So, nobody should take the liberty that our feelings could get hurt. There are many more things to make. Do that na. Why this only? If you are making it, do that, it is fine - but ek daayre mein rehkar, maryada ke saath aap filmein banaye. Kisi ki bhi feeling hurt nahi honi chahiye. It is a very sensitive issue," said Arun Govil.

Directed and written by Amit Rai, 'OMG 2' features Arun Govil along with Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi. The film will be clashing with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' at the box office on August 11, 2023.
