Apart from IISc Bangalore, the upcoming research parks are slated to be situated at IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Gandhinagar.

Presently, research parks are operational at IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Delhi, while the others are progressing swiftly toward completion, as confirmed by government sources.

OBJECTIVE BEHIND THIS DECISION

"The main objectives of these research parks are to have research collaboration with top-rated industries, to enable entrepreneurship and incubation of students and build strong academic linkages for the same, to increase the outreach of academic content to industry, and enable the industry to add value to the academic programme through close collaborations, etc," the PIB release stated.

To achieve the various objectives of research parks, these are normally established at Higher Educational Institutions of the country," it added.

The existing operational research parks have already begun to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

As the research parks' network continues to expand across these prominent institutions, the synergy between academia and industry is poised to reshape India's research landscape and technological trajectory.
