A disturbing video has emerged on social media that shows a Brazilian man drinking alcohol while his 11-year-old son flew their private aeroplane. Express.co.uk reported that the video was allegedly shot just moments before the father, Garon Maia, and his son Francisco Maia died after their plane crashed into a forest in Brazil on July 29.

The video shows Mr Maia chugging a bottle of beer while allowing his young son to take control of the plane. He can be seen giving instructions on how to operate the aircraft and teaching him about its controls.

Authorities are now investigating the incident to determine if the video was taken before the crash, and if the son was the one flying the plane when it went down. However, investigators believe it highlights Mr Maia's total disregard for the safety of both his son and himself.

According to a report from a local Brazilian outlet, Mr Maia took off from a family farm in Nova Conquista, Rondonia, and made a stop at an airport in Vilhena to refuel. His intention was to return his son to Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, where the boy's mother resides, and he attends school.

Tragically, this incident not only claimed the lives of Mr Maia and his son but also led to a devastating outcome for Mrs Ana Pridonik, Mr Maia's wife. Overwhelmed by grief, she died by suicide just hours after the burial of her husband and stepson on August 1.

It is important to note that according to Brazilian law, flying an aeroplane is only permitted for individuals over the age of 18 who have completed high school and registered with the National Civil Aviation Agency.

The investigation into this heartbreaking incident is ongoing, with authorities working to establish all the details surrounding the case.
