Swift tops sales chart in July, 8 Maruti cars among 10 best-selling models with 1 each for Hyundai, Tata
The Swift, Baleno, Brezza, Ertiga, Creta, Dzire, Fronx, WagonR, Nexon and Eeco were India's 10 largest-selling cars in July.
By India Today Auto Desk: The passenger vehicle (PV) segment continues to witness a robust demand with the volumes rising 3.1% at 352,492 units in July 2023 from 341,971 units in July 2022. During the month, Maruti Suzuki India had eight models among the 10 best-selling cars, while Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors had one each. The Maruti Suzuki Swift was the largest-selling car.
Swift takes the pole position
The Maruti Suzuki Swift registered sales of 17,896 units in July. It was followed by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno at 16,725 units. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza was far ahead of the competition at 16,543 units.
Ertiga enters the frame
While the production of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been impacted by supply-chain constraints, the MPV made a return to the top 10 chart with impressive volumes of 14,352 units in July. It was followed by the mid-size SUV segment leader, Hyundai Creta, at 14,062 units. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire carried on its bullish run, clocking sales of 13,395 units.
Handsome volumes for Fronx
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx continued with its splendid form with sales of 13,220 units in July. While the Maruti Suzuki WagonR notched up volumes of 12,970 units, the Tata Nexon posted sales of 12,349 units. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco completed the list, garnering volumes of 12,037 units.
