Minor electrocuted while charging mobile phone, mother dies in saving bid

A 15-year-old boy died after he suffered an electric shock while charging his mobile phone in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district on Tuesday night. The boy's mother was also electrocuted when she tried to save him.

"The incident happened in Bhavanipur village where mother-son was electrocuted," a police official, Mahesh Pandey, said.

Rohit Jaiswal (15) was sleeping with his mother, Ram Saheli, inside their home at night.

Rohit woke up during the night to charge his mobile phone and suffered an electric shock. Seeing this, his mother attempted to save him but she was also electrocuted.

The family members later found the mother-son duo lying dead in the room. The family refused to have an autopsy and performed final rites.
