Woman poses as dead father's wife for 10 years, collects Rs 12 lakh pension

For 10 years, a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district pretended to be her dead father's wife and withdrew Rs 12 lakh pension. The woman was later exposed and sent to jail.

A woman in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district, pretended to be her dead father's wife and managed to withdraw Rs 12 lakh pension over the span of 10 years. The woman identified as Mohsina Parvej has been arrested by the police.

Vijarat Ulla Khan, a resident of Aligarh, retired from the post of a lekhpal on November 30, 1987. However, he passed away on January 2, 2013. His wife, Saviya Begum, had already died before him.

But their daughter, Mohsina Parvej, fabricated documents to present herself as her father's wife and started receiving the pension amount.

Mohsina managed to withdraw Rs 12 lakh pension over the span of 10 years.

After the matter came to light, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

It was found that Mohsina had cleverly used her mother's name and even her own photograph in the pension application, duping the authorities in the process.

Mohsina was arrested by the police and sent to jail.
