By Siraj Qureshi: The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a man for allegedly killing a cop in the state’s Firozabad district. According to police, the man was working as a house help for the deceased sub-inspector and allegedly shot at him over a money dispute.

Deceased sub-inspector Dinesh Kumar Mishra, posted at Aranv police station in Firozabad, was shot dead on Thursday night when he was returning after investigating a case along with the accused.

For the last three months, Dheeraj was working as a house help for Dinesh Kumar Mishra on the promise of Rs 10,000 per month to him as salary. However, the deceased sub-inspector allegedly did not pay him for the last two months.

Dinesh Kumar Mishra also humiliated Dheeraj when the latter asked for money to pay his daughter's school fees and to purchase books for her.

On August 3, a quarrel broke out between the duo over the issue, following which Dheeraj shot down Dinesh Kumar Mishra with a country-made gun.

After the incident, Dheeraj made calls to Mishra's wife and even informed the police about the incident. He has been arrested by the police and booked under multiple sections of the IPC including 302 (pertaining to murder).

Meanwhile, the younger brother of the sub-inspector, Rajesh Mishra, raised questions about the Firozabad Police's investigation.

"Why would Dheeraj kill his mentor and elder brother-like Dinesh, just in anger over money? From where did Dheeraj get the pistol to shoot down Mishra while he was sitting on the motorcycle with the deceased sub-inspector at that time? Why haven't the police arrested the person who gave the pistol to Dheeraj?" Rajesh Mishra said.

Pointing out a huge amount of money that Dinesh Kumar Mishra had taken from his wife, his younger brother added, "The deceased sub-inspector had taken a huge amount of money from his wife Rajni, before going for the investigation. That amount is also missing."

Rajesh Mishra also said that his family would investigate the murder and bring out the real truth.
