After hug and wink, Rahul Gandhi's flying kiss for BJP in Parliament

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was leaving following his first speech in Parliament after he was reinstated as an MP, he gave a flying kiss to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs. Calling Rahul's behaviour inappropriate, women MPs from BJP filed a complaint with the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who delivered his first speech in Parliament after being reinstated as an MP on Wednesday, blew a flying kiss to BJP MPs. The moment, which was not captured on camera, happened when the Congress leader was walking out of the Lok Sabha premises and Union Minister Smriti Irani’s speech was underway.

According to people who witnessed the moment, when Rahul Gandhi was leaving the Lok Sabha premises after his no-trust motion speech, he dropped a few files and as he bent over to pick them up, a few BJP MPs started laughing at him.

They said Rahul Gandhi blew a kiss at the BJP MPs and walked out.

Lashing out at Rahul Gandhi over the flying kiss, Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani said, "Only a misogynistic man can give a flying kiss to women MPs in Parliament. Such an instance was never witnessed before. This shows what he thinks of women. This is obscene."

Union Agriculture Minister Shobha Karandlaje also hit out at the Congress MP over the flying kiss and filed a complaint with the Lok Sabha speaker, calling Gandhi’s behavior ‘inappropriate’. Many women MPs signed the complaint letter.

RAHUL GANDHI’S NO TRUST MOTION SPEECH

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Manipur violence and said the government "divided" the northeastern state into two parts.

Speaking during the no-confidence motion debate moved against PM Modi-led government on the Manipur violence, Rahul Gandhi said while he visited the strife-torn state, the Prime Minister did not do so.

"A few days back, I went to Manipur. Our Prime Minister didn't go, not even to this day, because for him Manipur is not India," he said.

The Congress leader said PM Modi was a "traitor" and not a "nationalist" as he "murdered India" in Manipur.

"They killed India in Manipur. Not just Manipur, but they killed India. Their politics has not killed Manipur, but it has killed India in Manipur. They have murdered India in Manipur," he said.

SMRITI IRANI'S COMEBACK

Union Minister Smriti Irani countered Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Manipur and said this was the first time someone spoke about the "murder of Bharat Mata" in Parliament and that she condemned Rahul Gandhi's behaviour in the House. Her statements came after Rahul Gandhi said the BJP had "murdered Bharat Mata in Manipur". In her fiery address, the BJP MP from Amethi trained guns on the Congress and said, "They are not India". Irani was referring to the opposition bloc's new name -- INDIA.
